Report: France 3 talks about the AUTO-RESCUE® anti-drowning program
In its report, France 3 comes back on the AUTO-RESCUE® anti-drowning swimming lessons with Swim Stars which are presented as complementary to the extension of the Aquatic Awareness plan developed by the government to fight against drowning.
Learning to swim: a lack of infrastructure
The report of the 19/20 National of France 3 begins in Toulon where children love to swim. Unfortunately, it is in the Var that we count the most drownings.
The risk is high at the sea in children under 6 years, but especially in private pools: 250 accidental drownings were recorded in 2018.
Nationally, there was a 30% increase between 2015 and 2018.
There is a lack of public facilities to accommodate all the children who wish to take swimming lessons.
In addition to the national plan for water safety launched by the government, the Swim Stars school teaches children, from an early age, to be safe in the water.
AUTO-RESCUE® Anti-Drowning Courses
At the Swim Stars pool in Lattes (Montpellier), the coach Xavier presents the AUTO-RESCUE® courses to know how to save yourself.
From the age of 3, children learn the basics of swimming and survival reflexes in case of a fall in the water, including THE safety position: the starfish!
Abby, the star of the day, is impressive after only 7 classes!
The national network offers classes in several cities in France;
