Drowning prevention. Le Parisien talks about the AUTO-RESCUE!

The June 12 edition of Le Parisien Paris IDF relays our concern about the closure of the pools. As a result, this is a wasted year of prevention against drowning.

The prolonged confinement of the capital’s ponds is likely to have dramatic consequences. In fact,“it’s between March and June that parents are clamoring for ‘SELF-RESCUE’ classes.”Especially for children aged 3 and over.

“We are worried, because it is a year of drowning prevention wasted” reacts Olivier Chazot, founder of the Swim Stars swimming school

Swim Stars offers AUTO-RESCUE, an anti-drowning prevention program for children as young as 3 years old (video). But unfortunately, these“had to stop at the cusp of their highest activity.” So rightly,“the drowning prevention actors of Swim Stars are worried about the summer ” writes Le Parisien.

We can’t do any prevention,” insists Olivier Chazot. “Or is 75% of our activity during the 3 or 4 months before summer, which is the period when the most accidents occur in private pools. Indeed, it only takes a few seconds to put away groceries while a child is splashing around in the family pool, to make a phone call when you think he or she is safe… However, drowning is the second leading cause of death for children under 4 years old, he insists. And 80% of this occurs in private basinss “.

Be extra careful when there is water nearby! Because private pools are the number one hazard for young people.
